Essilor Portugal: Alberto Silva is the new CEO at Saúde Visual
Alberto Silva is, since January 21st, the new CEO at Saúde Visual, part of Essilor Portugal. He will be in charge of visual health promotion activities and health screening programs, as well as prescription support teams (DIM and DOP), and clients training.
Alberto Silva was born in Angola in 1975 and grew up in Braga, where he graduated in Applied Physics at Universidade do Minho in 1999. He also completed his MBA at Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (2004), a postgraduation in Marketing Management at Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão – ISEG – Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (2006), and a Master in Marketing (2008). In 2010, he returns to the field of Sciences and signs up for a PhD at Universidade do Minho.
Alberto Silva started working at Essilor Portugal in 2004, in Trade Marketing, where was part of great help in creating, developing and implementing heath screening programs. He also coordinated the departments of clients training and optometry. He is part of the Marketing department since 2015, holding the position of Category Manager, being responsible for the brands Varilux and Transitions, as well as the digital area (website Essilor and social networks).
He was also part of the teams behind the launching of unifocal contact lenses Essilor Eyezen and Varilux X series in Portugal (2017), the project Digital hub transformation – Essilor Portugal’s digital department total restructuring, and the reinvigoration of the brand Transitions.
